چکیده مقاله:

Abstract Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of two rotary instrument systems (ProTaper and Revo-s File) in removing calcium hydroxide residues from root canal walls Materials and Methods:Thirty human  maxillary incisors were instrumented with the ProTaper System up to the F2 instrument, irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl,and filled with a calcium hydroxide intracanal dressing. After 7 days, the calcium hydroxide dressing was removed using the following rotary instruments:G1 - NiTi size 25, 0.06 taper, of the Revo-s  File System; G 2 - NiTi size 25, 0.06 taper, of the protaper File System. The teeth were longitudinally grooved on the buccal and lingual root surfaces, split along their long axis, and their apical and cervical canal thirds were evaluated by SEM (×1000). Results: The images were scored and the data were statistically analyzed using the Kruskall Wallis test. None of the instruments removed the calcium hydroxide dressing completely, either in the apical or cervical thirds, and no significant differences were observed among the rotary instruments tested (p > 0.05). Conclusion:To achieve the best adaptation of filling material after root canal treatment, it is crucial to remove intracanal medication from the root canal walls. However, none of the irrigation regimens and different techniques were able to completely remove the CH from the root canal wall.

The efficacy of the self-adjusting file and ProTaper for removal of calcium hydroxide from root canals

OBJECTIVE The goal of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the Self-Adjusting File (SAF) and ProTaper for removing calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2] from root canals. MATERIAL AND METHODS Thirty-six human mandibular incisors were instrumented with the ProTaper system up to instrument F2 and filled with a Ca(OH)2-based dressing. After 7 days, specimens were distributed in two groups (n=15) acc...

Removal efficiency of calcium hydroxide dressing from the root canal.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether differences in the composition of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) preparations influence the removal efficiency of irrigation solutions used in combination with filing of the canal. Three Ca(OH)2 preparations were used: Calxyl, Pulpdent paste, and chemically pure Ca(OH)2 mixed with distilled water. Fifty-one single-rooted extracted human teeth were p...

Efficacy of Different Irrigation Systems Used to Remove Calcium Hydroxide from the Root Canal

Introduction: The present study aimed to compare the cleaning efficacy of passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), self-adjusting file (SAF), EndoVac, and conventional syringe irrigation (CSI) techniques on Ca(OH)2 removal from the root canal. Methods: This study was conducted on the mesial roots of 36 human mandibular molar teeth. After 1 month, the Ca(...

ProTaper rotary instrument fracture during root canal preparation: a comparison between rotary and hybrid techniques.

AIMS This study aimed to compare the frequency of ProTaper rotary instrument fracture with rotary (conventional) and hybrid (rotary and hand files) canal preparation techniques. Secondary objectives were to determine whether there was an association of ProTaper file fracture with the canal curvature and to compare the mean time required for canal preparation in the two techniques. METHODS An ...
